| 08/01/06 -- Robbie dindn't get much chance to play in Premier League this season althought he has recovered from injury for many months. There are many rumours about Robbie's moving. But today(07/01/06) he got a chance from Stuart Pearce to play in the FA Cup 3rd round against Scunthorpe United. Robbie scored three goals inside sixteen minutes in the second-half(the third goal from a penalty). It's his first goal this season and his first hat-trick for City this season too!!
From BBC -- Scunthorpe boss Brian Laws insisted striker Robbie Fowler was the difference between the sides after they lost 3-1 at Manchester City.
"We were looking quite comfortable and handling Robbie pretty well, but he is such an intelligent player," Laws said.
"He kept dropping into areas where our centre-halves did not want to be, and we couldn't cope.
"We are a League One side and his knowledge and experience is bound to catch you out in the end."
Boss Stuart Pearce insisted he had "never thought about selling Robbie Fowler" after his hat-trick helped Manchester City beat Scunthorpe 3-1.
"I am acutely aware he has had a lack of first-team football but our squad is too light to consider letting anyone go and that includes Robbie," he said.
"A lot of people think he is workshy, but that is simply not the case.
"He is one of the hardest workers at this football club, and he has never given up."
The today game proves that everyone needs time. If you don't give him any minutes in the game, you will not get any goal from him. So you can't say that someone is useless. |
| 15/01/06 -- Robbie scored again!! He scored his first goal in Premier League this season in the Manchester derby match. Only 14 minutes for him, he could scored in the injury-time. Will he score next game?

Robbie will play the first game in Red shirt No.11 on Wednesday against Birmingham.

| 02/02/06 -- Robbie second debut in Red shirt the match Liverpool against Birmingham at Anfield on February. Robbie played on the 63rd minute as a substitute Peter Crouch. Although he didn't get many chances(his overhead kick was also rejected by the linesman) in this game and Liverpool couldn't beat the 10-man Birmingham, his debut at Anfield in front of the Kop is a memorable game.
From BBC -- The start of Robbie Fowler's second Anfield spell ended on a sour note as 10-man Birmingham scored late on.
When Fowler had warmed up before the start the match the Anfield tannoy had blasted out the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah - a reference to the striker's "God" monicker.
But with Fowler watching from the bench, Liverpool found it hard it work to strike up a consistent rhythm.
And as the Liverpool fans celebrated the noise levels at Anfield increased a decibel or two as Fowler replaced Crouch.
And with two minutes to go Birmingham drew level when Alonso chested the ball past his goalkeeper after Sutton had headed the ball down.
As the game entered stoppage time Alonso almost made up for his error when his free-kick drew a brilliant save from Taylor.
Fowler nearly had the last word, scoring with an overhead kick, but he was clearly offside.
"You can see he needs to be quicker. He is working on improving, but already he gives us a lot of things close to the box," said Benitez.
"It would have been a perfect ending if he scored that goal at the end."
From Liverpoolfc.tv -- Benitez praised Robbie Fowler for his performance when he came on in the second half and believes his team need to give the Reds goal machine better service.
"We know Robbie needs to improve his physical condition but his movement was really good," enthused Benitez. "What we need to do better is give him better service. Robbie makes good runs and we need to give him the ball in the right areas."

08/02/06 -- Robbie will play for Liverpool tonight? Maybe. Everything can happen tonight. Robbie plays, he also scores or he didn't play. Have to read Rafael Benitez's interview today here.
He wasn't in the squad on Sunday game against Chelsea because of his fitness.
"Robbie is not 100 per cent fit," said Benitez.
"We need to work with him and see how he improves. He can give to us more things, but normally when you play against Chelsea you are under pressure and you need to play deep. Maybe it wouldn't have been easy for him, and we had three strikers here.
"When you only have 16 players on a squad list it's not easy to use all the strikers. Robbie understands and he is working hard to improve his physical situation." |
| 09/02/06 -- Robbie had played about 30 minutes in the game against Charlton last night. There is no goal from him. While it's a must for Robbie to play and score because Thomas Myhre is a Goalkeeper last night. I haven't seen Myhre for a long long time and don't want to see him again. I think you all remember him. Myhre is a former Everton player who crashed with Robbie on February 23, 1998. As a result, Robbie missed his first World Cup. |
| 16/03/06 -- Robbie first goal since his return to Anfield has finally come with the header in the game Liverpool against Fulham at Anfield. This goal is his 172nd for the club, as many goals as King Kenny Dalgish had done in the all-time list of Liverpool's top goalscorers and it is his 213th goal in career.
From Liverpoolfc.tv -- Robbie Fowler struck his first goal for the club since his January return as Liverpool rediscovered the goalscoring touch to bounce back from their recent disappointments with a welcome 5-1 home win over Fulham on Wednesday night.
Fowler set the Reds on the way with a 16th minute header and in doing so became the first Anfield striker to score in the league this year.
Liverpool started strongly and had the ball in the back of the net within the first two minutes only for Luis Garcia's close-range tap-in to be disallowed for offside, while Morientes should have done better with a tame effort that was comfortably saved by ex-Reds reserve Tony Warner following intelligent play by Fowler.
A deserved opening strike was not long in coming though and just after the quarter hour mark Fowler drew level with Kop King Kenny Dalglish in the all-time list of Liverpool's top goalscorers when he headed home from close-range after Luis Garcia had flicked on a Harry Kewell corner.
Rafael Benitez - the post-match press conference-"It was a fantastic game for the strikers and the team and it was very important for us to see them score," enthused Benitez.
"It was good to see Robbie Fowler, Fernando Morientes and Peter Crouch all score and the assists of Djibril Cisse and it is very important for their confidence.
"It has given me a nice selection problem for the next game but a good one. This was a really important three points for us and my idea is to get another three points at Newcastle in the next game on Sunday."
Although Benitez didn't want to single out any of his strikers on a night when everything came together, he couldn't hide his delight in seeing Fowler finally break his duck since returning to the club.
"We were all waiting for Robbie to score his first goal back at Liverpool and it was a reward for his hard work," he said. "It was good for the supporters, the team and Robbie for him to score."
From BBC -- Robbie Fowler scored his first goal since returning to Liverpool as the Reds consolidated their third place in the Premiership with a win over Fulham.
Fowler headed in at the far post after 16 minutes when Luis Garcia flicked on a Harry Kewell corner before Collins John equalised with an angled shot.
Liverpool had stated their attacking intentions from the start when they had a goal disallowed for offside in the third minute as they looked to improve their poor scoring record.
Morientes had an early chance when he was released through by Fowler but he lacked confidence and conviction as he shot tamely at keeper Tony Warner.
But, just when it looked like the home side's problems in front of goal would continue, Fowler nodded in for his first goal in nine outings since returning to the club in January.
Morientes angled a shot into the side-netting after again latching on to a Fowler pass before Fulham shocked the home side with an equaliser.
Rafael Benitez -- "It was a fantastic game for the strikers.
"They were all waiting to score and it was important for their confidence that they did.
"Everybody will want to talk about Robbie's first goal since he returned here, but I was equally pleased with the goals from the other strikers too."
From Telegraph -- "I can understand you wanting to talk about Robbie's goal and it is important for him to score," said Benitez. "But it is also important for Morientes and Crouch. Perhaps this will end all this talk about our strikers not scoring and it gives me a selection problem for our next match against Newcastle."
Fowler was ecstatic to reopen his Liverpool account five years after his previous goal for his home-town club. "It's been a long time and people have pointed that out," he said. "It's so pleasing to get off the mark again. Another pleasing thing is that our other strikers have scored as well so that should take the heat off us a bit."

They are one of the hardest exams in my life. I have to give more time on reading(about 5,000 pages to go) so I will not update Robbie's latest news from now on. But I promise to update his Goals Page as soon as possible when he scores.

| 11/10/06 -- Not only Robbie who has the bad weeks during last four weeks but also me. Robbie didn't get much chance this season. The reason may be Liverpool have four strikers now. For me, it should not be the biggest reason not to put Robbie in the squad for many games(not only one or two). Rafa thought Robbie can't score for Liverpool. Rafa was right because he didn't give Robbie a chance. |
| 26/10/06 -- Robbbie finally got his chance to be in the squad and play. Robbie played in Carling Cup against Reading after he wasn't in the squad for nine games. Robbie scored one goal in this game and also created chances for the other goals for team in the 4 - 3 win at Anfield.
What did Rafa say before the game against Reading in Carling Cup? -- Liverpoolfc.tv
Rafael Benitez has backed Robbie Fowler to help the club's youngsters through tonight's Carling Cup clash with Reading.
Fowler is set to appear for the Reds for the first time since the derby defeat in September after recovering from a back injury.
Benitez will also include a number of younger players in his team for this evening's game, and he's looking for Fowler to show his experience and lead by example on the field.
"We brought Robbie Fowler back here because he had passion and could score goals. He trained so hard, but then he got a back injury," said the Liverpool boss.
"He had to stop. But he is now training and he knows he has players ahead of him, but he can do a good job for us. He is a fan and he has the spirit we want.
"He understands that he must support his team-mates and he must be an example for the younger players. I hope he can play and score.
"If he is fit he can play a big part. He has intelligence, a fantastic finisher. Players have problems as they get older and they do not have the pace, so he must be patient and take the opportunities when they are there."

| 06/12/06 -- Robbie scored two goals against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League. I hope those goals can bring his confidence back. If you want to see his latest goals, please visit Robbie's Forum
Quoted from Sheikh-over stirs Fowler (8/12/06) :
Back on the pitch, Fowler will be hoping his two goals in Turkey will keep him in contention for the visit of Fulham tomorrow.
"It's nice to have scored a couple of goals, but I don't get much satisfaction from it when we lose the game," he said.
"They were actually my first goals in the Champions League, so that was pleasing. To be fair, I've not had that many starts in the competition, but it was the one tournament I hadn't scored for Liverpool.
"I've not started that many games this season, but it's just one of those things. All you can do is try to do well when you get the chance. You try to give the manager a bit of a headache.
"It's hard to sum up the last 12 months since I came back. At the end of last season I felt I did well and played as many games as I thought I would.
"This year's been different because I've not been involved so much, but the manager has brought in another forward and selects the players he feels are right for each game.
"But I've known the situation all along and all I can do is keep working in training and hope the time comes when I'll get a bit more of a show.
"I can't go moaning to the manager saying I want to play. I was desperate to come back here and if the manager wants to play me, that's great, but if he decides to use someone else you're not going to have me knocking on his door or shouting my mouth of about it.
"He gave me the chance to come back to this club, which is what I really wanted, so it wouldn't be right for me to start complaining about the situation.
"Of course, any player will tell you they want to be playing as much as possible. Any footballer who says otherwise would be lying.
"But I've said before I'm just happy I'm back at Liverpool and getting some games. The more I play the better, but that's for the manager to decide.
"It was great to be back in the Ataturk Stadium as a Liverpool player. The last time I was there was as a fan, and I'd never have thought then I'd be wearing the shirt out there again 18 months later.
"To play for the club again in any stadium is a brilliant feeling, but to do it there was a bit special."

22/01/07 -- Robbie scored the first goal for Liverpool in the game they lost to Arsenal 3-6 on Jan 9, 2007. But it's not the point. There are rumours that Robbie will play in the Major League Soccer after his contract expired at the end of the season.
Fowler considers United move
Former Liverpool team-mates Robbie Fowler and Patrik Berger are considering offers to follow David Beckham to Major League Soccer.
Reports claim (Washington) DC United are ready to offer Fowler a lucrative chance to end his career in the sun if, as is expected, he is not offered a new deal at Anfield.
With Beckham-mania hitting the US, many MLS clubs are looking to bring Premiership veterans over to add more celebrity spice to the competition.
Fowler, who's still only 31, has been told by Liverpool he will not be getting a new deal next summer and had been considering giving up the game altogether to concentrate on his other interests, including horse racing.
But the lure of spending a couple of years in the US may prove irresistible to the former England striker.

Fowler: Gerrard's no diver
Robbie Fowler has hit out at diving accusations against Steven Gerrard, saying the Liverpool captain won two penalties against Sheffield United because he is a "born winner".
The England midfielder enraged United boss Neil Warnock in the 4-0 result at Anfield, in which he earned two spot-kicks for Fowler and scored a goal of his own.
He won the first after going down under minimal contact, having alerted referee Steve Bennett to holding from Robert Kozluk.
The second appeared more clear-cut, as Gerrard was tugged over while sprinting towards goal.
Warnock declared himself "disappointed" in the 26-year-old, but Fowler insisted Gerrard is no diver.
"I think everyone knows what he is about, he's a born winner," Fowler told Sky Sports News.
"I know what he [Warnock] is insinuating, but Stevie G will play for the cause and if he has got a chance he will carry on."
Gerrard also won a disputed penalty against Sheffield United on the opening day of the season. The kick was awarded for "intent" despite the lack of contact on the player. |
01/03/07 -- All the news about Robbie's future
Qatar more likely for Fowler
Robbie Fowler's agent George Scott claims Qatar and Dubai are likelier destinations for the striker than the United States.
The Liverpool striker is out of contract and, although he wants to remain at Anfield, Bayer Leverkusen forward Andriy Voronin's arrival has cast fresh doubts over his future.
New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol revealed that he has had talks with Fowler, who scored two penalties against Sheffield United last weekend, but this has been denied by Scott.
"He has not had a conversation with Steve and I don't think they could afford him anyway," Scott informed Radio Five Live.
"If he was to think about moving, Qatar or Dubai could be an option."
The former England attacker will be hoping for a chance to put one over rivals Manchester United in Saturday's big Premiership encounter.

22/07/07 -- Fowler agrees to sign for Cardiff
Robbie Fowler has agreed to join Cardiff on a two-year contract.
The 32-year-old striker was released by Liverpool at the end of last season and has rejected moves to Leicester City and Sydney FC in Australia's A-League.
Fowler will be re-united with Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale, who was in charge at Leeds when he signed from Liverpool for £11m in November 2001.
He is expected to be officially unveiled at a news conference in Cardiff early next week.
"It's taken a lot of hard work but thankfully it's done now," Cardiff manager Dave Jones told BBC Wales Sport.
"I met Robbie on holiday in America, just a chance meeting, and asked him what he was doing.
"He wasn't sure so I went on the internet to check his record and found he wasn't a bad player so I thought we might chase him.
"Peter [Ridsdale] has worked really hard on it and I'm glad he's decided to we are the club he wants to join."
Fowler's arrival at Ninian Park comes just over a week after Cardiff sold last season's top scorer Michael Chopra to Sunderland for £4.5m.
Jones revealed he would have signed Fowler even if Chopra had stayed, and stressed the former England striker still has the hunger to be successful.
"He's certainly got that, that's not in question," added Jones. "And to bank £4.5m for Chopra and then to get Robbie Fowler on a free transfer is good business.
"It puts the club in a healthy position, which is what we've been fighting for over the last 12 months."
Sydney FC had hoped to lure Fowler, and the former England striker was impressed with the set up after travelling to Australia for talks.
But his representative George Scott revealed Sydney were unable to compete financially with the other offers for Fowler.
"The only thing against them is that Robbie is a Premiership player and he is used to Premiership money," said Scott.
"The Premiership is unique in terms of the crazy money it generates and there is nothing in the world that replicates it, not even Spain. That money is well beyond Sydney and the Australian league and we know that.
"It is really a battle between money and quality of life and believe me, quality of life counts for a lot of money. All the money in the world is not going to buy your family's happiness."
Fowler becomes Cardiff's sixth summer signing of the summer, following Trevor Sinclair, Gavin Rae, Steven MacLean, Tony Capaldi and Michael Oakes to Ninian Park.
Jones revealed he still wants to bring another goalkeeper and a striker before the start of the season, but categorically dismissed reports that Cardiff had agreed a £1m deal to sign Blackburn's Francis Jeffers.
"That is a total fabrication of a story," said Jones. "I just do not know where these people get it from.
"Someone asks you a question, you give an answer and all of a sudden two and two becomes 10. It's totally untrue and I find it absolutely amazing."
Fowler made his Liverpool debut as an 18-year-old in 1993, scoring 171 goals in 330 games before joining Leeds for £11m in 2001 and then Manchester City for £6m in 2003.
Fowler returned for a second spell at Anfield in January 2006, although his starting appearances were limited.

Robbie Fowler is aiming to be back in Cardiff City’s squad for Saturday’s trip to Hull City.
The former Liverpool and England striker missed the 1-0 win against Ipswich Town and is again ruled out against Leicester City.
“Robbie had 28 needles stuck in him during the course of injections to help free up his hip,” said manager Dave Jones.
“The injections have been a success, but he’s feeling sore.

01/03/08 -- Fowler is intent on scoring again for Cardiff City
Robbir Fowler is intent on playing again this season – and returning to his goalscoring best for Cardiff City next season.
The former Liverpool and England striker has underlined his commitment by travelling to away matches with the team, even though he is still on crutches.
Fowler, who lives in South Wales with his family, is working in Cardiff City’s rehabilitation room at the training ground twice a day. He is almost ready to throw away the crutches and step up his fitness programme with the aim of playing next month.
It’s been a long, hard slog for Fowler, but he is committed to finishing this season on the pitch and returning for 2008-2009.
He signed a one-year contract with a year’s option and a club insider said: “Robbie is working flat out to get back this season and he is fired up about next season. He wants the chance to show fans that he can still play a major role for the team. And with a full pre-season training regime behind him, which he didn’t have this season, who knows what he could achieve next time around.” |
28/03/08 --
Fowler recovery going well Cardiff manager Dave Jones has revealed striker Robbie Fowler is "progressing well" in his recovery from injury.
Fowler, who is suffering with a hip problem, has netted six times for the Bluebirds this season but last played on December 15 in the defeat to Bristol City.
Jones refused to speculate on a possible return date for the former Liverpool star but revealed Fowler is making the progress anticipated by medical staff.
"Robbie is progressing well and is exactly where the doctors said he would be at this stage," Jones told the South Wales Echo.
"But after such a long time out he just wants to keep working. We are not setting any targets.
"Robbie is doing well, but he is not under any pressure from anybody within the football club."
